How did the name kangaroo come about?

When the English landed in Australia, they saw a strange animal and asked the natives what it was called. The natives, who didn’t understand English, replied “Kangaroo”, which means “I don’t understand what you are saying”. So actually a kangaroo is called a kangaroo: I don’t understand what you are saying.

How many plants are endangered?

Over a tenth of the world’s plants are threatened with extinction. Of a total of 33798 species, 6522 are directly threatened and around 750 are already extinct.

Vacation = stupidity?

Denmark spends little money on sexual health

In 2007, Denmark spent approximately DKK 20 million on prevention and sexual health – a figure that has fallen from DKK 30-35 million in the 1980s. This is far less than the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden, for example. If Denmark were to spend as much as the Netherlands per citizen, we would have to spend five or six times as much money on prevention.
