How did pastry originate in Denmark?

Wienerbrød as we know it today was invented in 1850 when some Austrian bakers came to Denmark, they didn’t understand the Danish baking recipes and therefore added some recipes from their home country. One of these recipes was for Plundergebäk, which was later translated into Wienerbrød.
