About Ubrugelig.dk

Ubrugelig.dk is Denmark’s largest and original collection of useless knowledge within a wide range of categories. The collection is under constant development and first saw the light of day back in 1998, when it was hosted on Jesper H. C.’s personal website.

In 1999, the useless knowledge then moved to ubrugelig.dk and things went fast from there.

By February 1, 2004, there had been over 35,000 visitors to the site and over 300 people had submitted useless knowledge.

Ubrugelig.dk has also participated in a thesis on human memory for a researcher at the University of Southern Denmark. Furthermore, two magazines have collaborated on publishing useless knowledge, and a free postcard company has plans to publish postcards with useless knowledge. On February 16, 2004, an article was published on BT about useless knowledge, and three days later Ubrugelig.dk participated in an interview on DR1’s 19Direkte.

Until June 2009, ubrugelig.dk had had over 300,000 visitors and received countless emails with useless knowledge. In June 2009 ubrugelig.dk changed layout and at the same time the new site was established on the WordPress platform to make updates more manageable.

The new design and the new options on ubrugelig.dk have been well received by users. Anyone who has praise for ubrugelig.dk can write to me or use the comment fields.

By the end of 2011, the site had had 5,655,964 page views and 852530 visitors. Ubrugelig.dk also participated in an article for Berlingske Lokale Medier’s joint editorial team behind – Århus Stiftstidende, Randers Amtsavis, Viborg Stifts Folkeblad, Dagbladet Holstebro, Dagbladet Struer, Dagbladet Ringkøbing-Skjern, Folkebladet Lemvig + 50 local and weekly newspapers, three radio stations and lots of online activities. This resulted in a full-page article in Randers Amtsavis and small articles online, including this one from amtsavisen.dk

In 2017, Ubrugelig.dk was redesigned once again when Ubrugelig.dk joined forces with toilet-viden.dk and nysr.dk to create Denmark’s largest website with useless knowledge.
